Miguel Rodriguez (b. 1969 Middletown, CT) is an American abstract artist based in the Washington, DC area. He received his BFA from Tufts University/The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 1995. He has exhibited in Philadelphia and most recently in Miami and San Francisco with K Imperial Fine Art.
The son of a scientist and an artist, he started making art as a child. His mother had a studio in the house, and in a corner he had his own table, where he worked on various self-directed projects. Drawings of underwater cities, epic battles, car races were topics of play/study. His parents also hung out with cool artists, writers and activists, who also had kids. They would drink cheap wine late into the night, play music, laugh and argue about politics and art.
