We are pleased to present, Circadian, a solo exhibition featuring Ohio based artist, Danielle Rante. Circadian will feature large-scale Cyanotypes and salt printing while exploring the shift in the natural world. Combining her personal experiences and the use of materials drawn from the commercial and natural environment, Rante contrasts these transient items into ideas and images of ever-present environmental touchstones.

Circadian will be on view from June 1st – June 30th 2015 with a reception for the artist, Thursday June 4th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. This will be Rante’s second solo show with K. Imperial Fine art.

Rante’s constant investigation of existence in the environment is depicted through vibrant cyanotypes on Okawara paper, which reference a star map or a planetary body. Each piece exhibited in Circadian is represented by deconstructed and reconstructed silk flowers, collected and pressed flowers, sea water and sunlight. The photograms that are created reveal a silhouetted image that varies in darkness due to the opacity of the objects ultimately creating a delicate amalgamation between the natural and man made world.

Danielle Rante lives and works in Columbus, Ohio. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Printmaking and Drawing at Wright State University. She received her M.F.A. in printmaking from the University of Iowa in 2006. She has exhibited work nationally and internationally, including the International Print Center New York (NY, NY), Hudson D. Walker Gallery (Provincetown, MA) and Shanxi University Art Gallery (China). Her work has been featured in New American Paintings (Volume 89) and in the Drawing Center’s curated Artist Registry and Viewing Program. She has attended residencies at The Headlands Center for the Arts (Sausalito CA), Nes (Skagastrond, Iceland) Fine Arts Work Center (Provincetown MA) and Philadelphia Art Hotel (Philadelphia PA).

Circadian will be on view for the month of June. For further information or to inquire about the work, please contact Gallery Director, Meghan Corso at 415.277.7230 or by email at meghan@kimperialfineart.com.
