JESSICA M. KAUFMAN

Artist Biography

Jessica M. Kaufman is an American artist currently living and working in New York, NY. Kaufman received her BA from Yale University and her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art. She has work included in the permanent collections of The Jewish Museum in NYC, the Southeast Museum of Photography in Daytona Beach, and the Photography Museum of Lishui, China. Her work has been exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Southeast Museum of Photography, Lishui Photography Festival in China, National Arts Club in NYC, Rayko Photo Center in San Francisco, The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, Columbia University, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and University of Michigan. Kaufman’s work has also been featured online at Unless You Will (UYW), NPR.org, and Salon.com. She is a recipient of the NYSCA Individual Artist TIER Award and a New York Department of Cultural Affairs Regrant.  Her photographs have been published in the catalogs The Art of Captivity, RSVP Arbor, Nymphoto Conversations: Volume I, and Flash Forward 2007: Emerging Photographers from Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Kaufman is a winner of Photography Now, published in Photography Quarterly, The National Graduate Seminar Fellowship from The Photography Institute at Columbia University, and twice received a Bacon Dee Grant recipient.
