We are pleased to announce, Collective Topographies a solo exhibition featuring gallery artist Peter Foucault. Collective Topographies will showcase Foucault’s newest body of work, inspired by his interest in cartography, chance systems in mark making, and the destructive/generative forces in nature and physics.
On display will be works on paper that are fueled by the artist’s passion for drawing and mark making. Foucault has created a series of Drawing Projects, which utilize a small robot and systems he has personally developed, ultimately leading to the creation of complex abstract compositions. At the root of these projects is a constant tension between control and the loss of control.
The exhibition opens March 6, 2014 with an artist talk and demonstration on March 8, from 2 -3pm and a reception for the artist to follow from 3-5pm.
Cartography, works on paper, a robot, creative minds…what more could you want?! See you all on March 8th!
