Working in Place

An Online Exhibit of Artists Working in Quarantine

K. Imperial Fine Art is pleased to present Working in Place.  For the past several weeks, much of the world has been working from home as we weather the COVID-19 pandemic. We know this has been difficult for many people as we continue to flatten the curve by physically distancing ourselves and sheltering in place.

For many artists, their practice routinely requires solitary devotion. However, there is a certain weight in the air now; a silent tension that seems ever-present. While working from home, or alone in their studio, their daily routines help maintain a sense of normalcy and a hope for the future.

We reached out to several of our gallery artists to share new and exciting work they have produced during this time. Great art comes from those willing to be vulnerable, and many of our artists agree that their work and process are specific to the moments in time they were created.

Art is a reflection of society. Whether it’s drawing, painting, sculpture, music, literature, dance, television, or cinema; art reflects our history and crucial components of our lives. Now, maybe more than ever, we are turning to artists to uplift and help make sense of the changing world we live in.

Home should be a place where we can relax and recharge from everything our lives throw at us. One of the best ways to make your home a sanctuary is to surround yourself with things you love, and artwork is therapy we get to live with.

Spring is approaching, the trees are blooming, and with it comes a new sense of optimism. We look forward to hearing from you, and hope you find comfort as we all get through this together!
